Online Safety is a core area of our Computing Curriculum and is planned into every unit taught throughout the year to ensure that it is always at the forefront of children’s minds. Children understand that, although technology is a central aspect of our daily lives, it can be dangerous. They learn at an age-appropriate level, how to keep safe while using technology and what to do if they see something they don’t like. In addition to this, children learn about how things they put online contributes to their digital footprint and the impact this can have in order to make them responsible users of technology.
Children in Upper Key Stage 2 receive visits from local police officers to talk about the laws behind social media and communication and links to support parents are sent home for families to enable them to support their child at home.
