In Key stage 2 all children learn to play the recorder and the ukulele. They explore musical notation.
In Key stage 2 children are able to access individual and group lessons in musical instruments such as the guitar and violin. These lessons are taught by PAS specialist music tutors.
On 15 May 2024, the Department for Education (DfE) published new guidance on Music Development Plans for schools in England.
The DfE has said that ‘all schools should have a music development plan, as set out in the National Plan for Music Education‘. It is ‘asking schools to publish a summary of their Music Development Plan on their website before the start of the 2024 to 2025 academic year.’
